Maja Berden Zrimec, Ph.D., is the Head of the research and project manager at Algen, algal technology center, llc. She has more than 25 years of experience with algal physiology, water ecology, and toxicology, field and laboratory work. She currently works on the topics of algae cultivation in anaerobic digestate and wastewater, biostimulants, CO₂ capture with algae and enzymes, and increasing lipid content in algae biomass in the scope of Horizon Europe projects BioRural, Cronus, Locality, and FuelPhoria. She’s also invited the editor of a special issue on Boosting the Potential of Algae for Biomass Production, Valorisation, and Bioremediation at Frontiers.
